I'm Chris Tailowright, an IT Professional and Cybersecurity enthusiast. I have had a passion for technology since I was a kid playing video games on our first home computer that was Windows 98. Throughout the last 10 years of navigating through interests and possible career directions, I always found myself going back to computers, cybersecurity and technology as a whole. After being a team lead for 4 years in a manufacturing environment I decided to go back to school for Network Administration and Cybersecurity, since then I have thrived. I have achieved multiple Dean's List acknowledgements and have built rapport with fellow students and professors. In the beginning of 2021 I was given an opportunity to work a local help desk/IT management position for the local newspaper in Windom, MN where I was able to build on the foundational skills learned in college and use them in real world environments. I was able to help many home computer users along with businesses in the area with their technology struggles and triumphs.

The Cybersecurity portion of my degree is focused entirely on Ethical Hacking and systems defense. When people have asked me before what is ethical hacking & why would I be learning that? The Hacker definition in computer technology is an individual who uses computer, networking or others skills to overcome a technical problem or in other words someone that is a "tinkerer". In order to understand how modern day threat actors (malicious hackers) breach systems and networks so you can prevent it you have to learn how to move like one.

Computers and technology encompass a large scope of potential advancements in organizations and potential growth for companies. I want information technology to have a seat at the table and drive company growth.

Outside of technology I am a musician who plays the guitar, I love to learn new technique's and I actively take guitar lessons. My wife and I love to travel, in the picture to the right that is me on the southern rim of the Grand Canyon.
